The Wines of Pahlmeyer (Haskell’s Minnetonka).

Another stellar event where five of us enjoyed the great wines of Pahlmeyer. The 2022 Pahlmeyer Red was off the charts and top 10 of the year.

  • 2024 Pahlmeyer Sauvignon Blanc Jayson – USA, California, Napa Valley
First wine of the tasting. Very nice with floral, lemon, spice, grapefruit and sour apple. Medium finish. (90 pts.)
  • 2022 Pahlmeyer Chardonnay Jayson – USA, California, North Coast
Rich wine with orange peel, spices, dust, lime, dust and lemon. Medium finish. (90 pts.)
  • 2022 Pahlmeyer Chardonnay Napa Valley – USA, California, Napa Valley
Outstanding. Always like this offering. While using newer oak it doesn’t distract the wine from the other elements. Lemon, Carmel, wood, spices, apple, white flowers and stone. Medium plus finish and concentrated effort. Excellent. (94 pts.)
  • 2022 Pahlmeyer Jayson Red Wine – USA, California, Napa Valley
Earth, dark currants, oak, plum, dark chocolate and dust. Medium finish. (88 pts.)
  • 2022 Pahlmeyer Cabernet Sauvignon Jayson Napa Valley – USA, California, Napa Valley
Very good and much better than the Jayson Red. Dark currants, cedar, menthol, spice, dust and dark chocolate. Rich wine and medium plus finish. Like it. (92 pts.)
  • 2022 Pahlmeyer Merlot – USA, California, Napa Valley
Excellent with cherry, floral, blue currants, coffee beans, spice, plum and wood. Super complex and awesome. (93 pts.)
  • 2022 Pahlmeyer Proprietary Red – USA, California, Napa Valley
Pahlmeyer tasting and instant. Natural cork. Dark purple. 18 months French oak. Beautiful wine with blue currants, floral, spice, perfume, cherry, oak and minerals. Long finish. So balanced and smooth. Can’t reveal the price. Top 10 for sure. (97 pts.)
