Can’t remember which of the many Facebook Posts I commented on but said there are no great Rose wines from California. Well Adam Lee introduced me to his wife’s winery Moret calls Moret Brealynn in other words her first and last name. I was amazed by this wine and here is my note.
- 2024 Morét-Brealynn Rosé of Pinot Noir – USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Lucia Highlands (10/23/2025)
Day 1: Outstanding quality with nice acidity. Strawberries, watermelon, spice, dust, rose petals and stone. Very complex for a Rose and I drink them at room temperature and this is outstanding quality. Yes sir! 91+
Day 2: Even better. Drinking these around 65 degrees. Full flavor of course. Chery, watermelon, spice, rose petals, stone, strawberries and dust. Medium plus finish and this drinks well on its own so a serious wine for sure. Nice acidity. 92 points
Day 3: Excellent and holding form of the quality of day 2. Love the fruit featuring cherry, watermelon and strawberries. Nice acidity and also features rose petals, stone, dust and some earth. Medium finish. 92 points
Recommendation: Highly recommended. For me to give a domestic Rose 90 is tough but this is better than that. (92 points)

I ended up buying six more wines and wanted to try the base bottling Pinot and this a really well made offering. Here is the note.
- 2024 Morét-Brealynn Pinot Noir Stray Dogs – USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (11/23/2025)
Day 1: Very nice wine with strawberries, underbrush, minerals, spices, rose petals, earth and a touch of pepper. Very smooth and elegant. I like it. 92 points
Day 2: Quintessential California Pinot in a good way of course. Cranberry, strawberries, rose petals, spice, wafter, minerals and pepper. Very flavorful and would really get someone to upgrade to better Pinot than that sweet stuff on the market. Fruit is the star here. 92.5 points
Day 3: Outstanding again on day 3. Cranberry, boysenberries, rose petals, strawberries, spice, pepper, minerals and wafer. Great fruit showing through on day 3 again. Really good value on this one. 92.5 points
Recommendation: Worth every penny and high recommended. (92 points)

Look forward to trying more of her wines over the next many years.
Nice notes as always JG will have to try matt
