While I have written closer to probably 15,000 in my wine career and still finding old books and papers to add notes it is a great achievement to officially have 10,000 notes on Cellar Tracker.
Well it was going to be the 2016 K Vintners Syrah Skull (USA, Washington) but on initial opening it was not showing well. However drinking it on 10,001 of my tasting notes. One thing I learned in the wine world is patience and create the 3 day wine review system which is probably the best creation in wine reviewing history but some will disagree.
Tried this with my friend who runs Sunfish Cellars Wine Shop and is in the tough position of trying to relocate Sunfish and the deli next door. Anyway one thing I have been doing recently is to share and be more generous with fellow wine drinkers. I saw this bottle on the top shelf and said what the hell let’s open it and try it! He was blown away on how well it was drinking and he had it a year prior. Here is my note on my 10,000 note!
Only 3 ahead of me have consumed more bottles so most of their notes are coming from industry events.
