Wines of Raptor Ridge with Annie Shull

Amazing how wines can improve over a year. I had several of these last year and now they are really showing well especially the whites. Outstanding tasted with Bourget Imports in MN yesterday.

  • 2021 Raptor Ridge Estate Cuvée Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut – USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Chehalem Mountains
This was very nice with a creaminess to it. Shells, lemon, spices, minerals, orange peel and lime. Refreshing and well made. Medium finish. Better than the last time I sampled this in 2025. (91 pts.)
  • 2024 Raptor Ridge Grüner Veltliner Estate – USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Chehalem Mountains
Amazing what age can do for a wine. One year ago wasn’t loving this but now wonderful. Grass, lemon, white flowers, minerals and sour apple. Refreshing and nice acidity. (91 pts.)
  • 2024 Raptor Ridge Pinot Gris – USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
Again the 3 Raptor Whites have really improved from a year ago. Lemon, spices, orange peel, dust, floral and nice mineral streak on the medium finish. Solid effort. (92 pts.)
  • 2023 Raptor Ridge Pinot Noir Barrel Select – USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
Very nice showing on this one. Solid Pinot for under $30 for sure. Dust, earth, mushrooms, cherry, raspberries and a touch of pepper. Medium finish and quite complex. (92 pts.)
  • 2023 Raptor Ridge Pinot Noir Whole Cluster Estate – USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Laurelwood District
My favorite of the Raptor Pinots. This is showing some wood along with mushrooms, rose petals, strawberries, raspberries, minerals, dust and earth. Concentrated and age for 10 plus with confidence. (94 pts.)
  • 2024 Raptor Ridge Pinot Noir Perspective – USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
Liked this much better than the 23 with strawberries, cherry, floral and earth. Simple wine but for sure a crowd pleaser. (91 pts.)
