Well one thing about 3 Day Wine Review is I dispel myths about wine and also call out the crap. Top 20 worst wines of the year. So left two wines out last night without putting the cork in them in the passive cellar. Both better than the previous day. Many think too much air is bad for wine and for how many years have I done 3 day wine reviews.
- 2018 Château Lanessan – France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc (12/17/2025)
Day 1: Diam closure. Wonderful effort and not many better Bordeaux values. Spices, wood, cherry, saddle leather, cigar ash and blue currants. Super enjoyable right now and why wait? Second bottle and both solid. 92 points
Day 2: Well with the Two Hands and this left the cork out all night so too much air? No. Beautiful showing with cherry, wood, spices, floral, blue currants, roasted chestnuts, dust and cigar. Medium plus finish. One of the best Bordeaux values period. 93 points (93 points) - 2020 Two Hands Shiraz Dave’s Block Single Vineyard Blythman’s Road Blewitt Springs McLaren Vale – Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale (12/17/2025)
Day 2: Diam 30 closure. Day 1 not digging the wine but more open on day 2. Black pepper, blue currants, perfume, exotic spices, dust, violets, crushed stones and tea leaves. Medium plus finish. What a great $55 wine with free shipping. 94 points
Day 3: Well the theory of too much air is off the table with this one. Left the cork out all night and this is by far its best of the 3 days. Super balanced and enjoyable wine. Pepper, spices, earth, tar, violets, crushed rock, iodine, smoked bacon and blue currants. Really nice fruit and medium plus finish. 95 points
Recommendation: Easy buy at $55 (95 points)
Agree been there done that over night a few times and surprised it was good the next day.
Stevens here you. I sometimes forget to put the cork back in and they are much better on day 2.
