I made comment a few months ago saying there are no good Rose Wines from California and maybe just a joke but glad Adam Lee reached out to me with Moret-Brealynn Rose 2024 which is off the charts! 2025 is out as well! Get some.
Well my friends Tom and Bruna and Adam Lee did a Zoom last night. Six wines all exceeded expectations. Here are the wine over 4 days which who does this other 3 Day Wine Review.
- 2024 Dial Tone Chardonnay – USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Barbara County (1/25/2026)
Day 1: Screw Cap. Riedel Performance Chardonnay Glass. Very nice wine with chalk, lime, spice, white flowers, sour apple and minerals. Very balanced wine and nice acidity. Well made. 90+
Day 2: This is a nice wine overall. Flint, orange peel, chalk, spice, lemon, saline and lime. Medium finish. Really good value for around $20.00. 91 points
Day 3: Just a well made Chardonnay for the money. For $20 a bottle very few better. Dust, lemon, chalk, white flowers, saline, lime and spices. Medium finish. 90 points
Recommendation: Best to drink this one young but this would be good in a blind tasting against some $50 Chardonnays. (91 points)

- 2024 Dial Tone Pinot Noir – USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Barbara County (1/24/2026)
Day 1: Screw Cap. Riedel Performance Pinot Stem. This is wonderful on the pop and pour. Right up my alley. Spice, matchstick, cranberry, dust, dried flowers, minerals and cola. Medium plus finish. Super balanced and nice acidity. Very good value. 93 points
Day 2: Lighter in style than the Clarice lineup but equally compelling. Nice acidity with cranberry, sour cherry, dried flowers, cola and minerals. I see this as a drink younger wine. 93 points
Day 3: This is still showing well and represents a really good value. Cranberry, spice, minerals, cola, dust, dried flowers, sour cherry and earth. Medium finish. One of the better Pinot values for under $25.00 out there. 93 points
Day 4: Still nice after 4 days which is rare for a Pinot at this price point. Underbrush, dried flowers, sour cherry, earth, minerals dust and cranberry. Medium finish. 90 points
Recommendation: Yes this is legit and a solid Pinot for the Money for under $25.00. (93 points)
- 2024 Clarice Wine Company Pinot Noir Rosella’s Vineyard – USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Lucia Highlands (1/24/2026)
Day 1: Screw cap. Riedel Performance Pinot Stem. My favorite of the 3 on day 1. Fragrant and lively. Rose petals, raspberry, strawberry, earth, spice and minerals. My style of Pinot for sure. 93+
Day 2: By far the most open of the 3 Clarice wines from 24. Soy, rose petals, raspberries, sour strawberries, minerals, earth and dust. Medium finish. Most satisfying. 94 points
Day 3: What a beautiful wine and back up a six pack and drink every 2 years. Brightness in full effect. Strawberries, raspberries, cranberries. Earth, minerals, dust and earth. Medium plus finish. 94.5 points
Day 4: Ok this is for a Pinot Lover. Balanced and nice acidity. Not heavy but plenty going on. Strawberry, earth, minerals, spice, dust, earth, rose petals and soy. Medium plus finish. Love this wine. 95 points
Recommendation: This is a wonderful effort and my favorite of the 3 Clarice wines I sampled.

- 2024 Busy Signal Pinot Noir – USA, California, Central Coast, Sta. Rita Hills (1/24/2026)
Day 1: Screw Cap Closure. Riedel Performance Pinot Stem. Lighter than the Clarice wines but very enjoyable for the price point. Spice, raspberries, tea leaves, cranberries, minerals and floral notes. While simple in nature very balanced and drink now to 2030. 89 points
Day 2: Not any better. Find it drinkable but nothing exciting. Celery, spice, raspberries, tea leaves and cranberries. Drink on the younger side. 89 points
Day 3: Why I do day 3 review. This has come along! 15% whole cluster. 10% New French Oak. This has opened up a lot with strawberries, cranberries, mushrooms, forest floor, dried flowers, tea leaves and minerals. Very nice wine for around $40.00 or less. 92 points
Day 4: Wonderful on day 4. Cranberry, strawberries, mushrooms, forest floor, tea leaves, perfume and minerals. This is a really solid effort that is age worthy. 92+
Recommendation: This needs a heavy decant but once it is open it is excellent. Drink through 2034. (92 points)

- 2024 Clarice Wine Company Pinot Noir Garys’ Vineyard – USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Lucia Highlands (1/24/2026)
Day 1: Screw Cap. Riedel Performance Pinot Stem. Much more open for business on the pop and pour than the Santa Lucia Highlands. This is a bigger style Pinot and fruit forward. Strawberries, cherry and ripe plums. Smoke, wood, dust, earth, floral and exotic spices. Very powerful wine but balanced. Should improve over 3 days. 92.5 points
Day 2: Smoke, earth, mint, ripe strawberries, underbrush, cherry, wood and exotic spices. Bigger style and think Sea Smoke in style. Time needed. 92 points
Day 3: Ok Garys’ has come alive on day 3! Imagine a good wine improving on day 3. Super bright fruit on day 3. Plum, strawberries, light smoke, minerals, chalk and floral notes. Love it and Tom and Bruna loved it as well! Well done Adam Lee. 94 points
Day 4: Much more elegant on day 4 and I like it. This is showing nice fruit, light smoke, floral notes and minerals. Very solid effort. 94 points
Recommendation: Highly recommended. (94 points)

- 2024 Clarice Wine Company Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands – USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Lucia Highlands (1/24/2026)
Day 1: Screw Cap. 71% Garys’ Vineyard and 29% Rosella’s Vineyard. Powerful and dense Pinot with violets, perfume, smoke, strawberries, exotic spices and chalky soil. Medium plus finish. Glad I am trying this on day 1 for a day 3 tasting with the legend Adam Lee on Zoom. Will need some air to show its stuff. 90+
Day 2: Time has helped this wine. Forest floor, strawberry, light smoke, chalk, violets, cranberries and perfume. Medium plus finish. 92+
Day 3: Similar to day 2. Forest floor, light smoke, cranberries, perfume, earth and violets. A bit heavy for me. 92 points.
Day 4: Not as big of a fan as the Rosella’s & Garys’. Earth, menthol, spice, violets, cranberry and forest floor. Medium finish. 92 points
Recommendation: I prefrer Rosella’s & Garys’
‘ (92 points)
