De la Luz Taste of Washington

I love to try new wineries and really this visit to their booth at the epic Taste Washington was due to Facebook activity. Victor de la Luz is involved in several Facebook Groups and I like his style interacting with people and sharing his wine expertise. Well here are 3 gems from the Taste Washington event where only John Glas was taking notes and actually posting notes on the great wineries of Washington.

Check them at De La Luz.

  • 2020 De La Luz Carmen Rosé – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley (3/22/2026)
Glasvin Universal. Not many 90 point Rose wines from Washington but this is one. Minerals, stone, raspberries, flowers and spices. Medium finish and nice acidity. (90 points)

2022 De La Luz Merlot Letter to a Friend – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley (3/22/2026)
Glasvin Universal. Gravel, red currants, spices, earth, plum, dust and minerals. Very nice offering and Merlot shines in Washington. 92+ (92 points)

  • 2021 De La Luz Tempranillo Echo West Vineyard – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (3/22/2026)
Glasvin Universal. Well I am not a fan of Tempranillo from Washington. I find this grape is not a good fit. Well friends this is a good fit!!! Red currants, clay, floral, spices, dried flowers, earth and wood. Medium plus finish. Nice concentration and acidity. Really liking this one! (93 points)
