Well the Masters Golf Tournament is coming up and 1986 Yes sir! comes to mind on these 2 friends. Both of these wines improved over 3 days but improved even more on day 4 and 5 respectfully. Not many wine reviewers in the world (none, except me) have the patience and the wine geekness to hold wines this long and review them.
Here we go:
2017 Cadence Bel Canto Cara Mia Vineyard – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Red Mountain (3/29/2026) Day 1: Glasvin Kane. Outstanding and one of the better agers from Washington. Spices, floral, sour cherry, minerals, strawberries and perfume. Really nice wine. 92+ Day 2: Improving with dust, cherry, floral, minerals, perfume, spices and blueberries. Medium plus finish. 93 points Day 4: A rare day 4 but this is stellar and holding up. Cadence wines can age for 20 plus years as was evident at Taste Washington with an 01. Raspberries, dried flowers, cherry, dust, earth, cigar, perfume, blueberries and coffee beans. Medium plus finish and outstanding. 94 points Recommendation: Get some of these as you will be rewarded with some aging and a real good value for sure. (94 points) Website |

- 2013 Spring Mountain Vineyard Elivette – USA, California, Napa Valley, Spring Mountain District (3/28/2026)
Day 1: Glasvin Kane. Needed some air and still a bit too much Brett on this one. Someone mentioned bottle variation and here it is. Wood, earth, light fruits, band aides and earth. This is not a pleasant wine experience compared to the other bottle. Very disappointed in this showing. 80 points
Day 2: How many people dump out a bottle on day 1 because it is not showing well? A high percent. Here at 3 Day we never give up on a bottle and this is no exception. Is this at the level of the previous bottle. NO but it is very drinkable on day 2. Sour cherry, spices, floral, minerals and earth. The Brett has dissipated and is now a decent wine. 90 points
Day 3: Even a bit better. For anyone saying drink these now is way off in their assessment. The Brett has almost disappeared and now we can focus on why this wine is such a great value. Blueberries, coffee beans, floral, spices, sour cherry, menthol, wood and minerals. Picking up some gravel on this medium plus finish. Great improvement over 3 days and tops for the 2026 year so far. 92 po
Day 5: A crazy day 5 review and glad I left some. Wow is this good. Dark cherry, soy, blueberries, coffee beans, floral, menthol, wood and dark chocolate. A true testament to the quality of this wine and the patience of 3 day or mean 5 day in this case. 94 points
Recommendation: Get a six pack on Last Bottle. (94 points) Last Bottle
