No better winery to start than this one. The only wine club I have ever joined and I have tasted more of their wines than all other critics combined. The 2021 Result of a Crush Syrah The Unnamed Series continues to be the best wine in the world for under $25 with shipping. I personally have purchased 100 bottles of it and have 38 tasting notes.
Result of a Crush started in 2011 by Amanda Reynvaan & her sister Angela Reynvaan Garratt with consulting from the great Matt Reynvaan who makes some of the top wines in all of Walla Walla at Reynvaan.
Result of a Crush was started by Amanda Reynvaan and her sister Angela Reynvaan Garratt in 2011, along with their brother Matt as consulting winemaker. Their story is about producing great wine for an even better price. These wines are all estate grown and produced in the Walla Walla Valley, with some of the vines established dating back to 2004.
Here is a note of every wine I have tasted over the years.
- 2015 Result of a Crush Red Wine – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (11/10/2022)
Day 1: Of all the Result of a Crush Wines I have sampled this is the most balanced and approachable. Pepper, iodine, red currants, minerals, spice and tar. Good acidity and medium plus finish. No one is guessing $25 a bottle on this. Amazing. 93 points
Day 2: Reynvaan written all over this wine. Green olives, spice, tar, minerals, black pepper, underbrush and violets. Medium plus finish and super concentrated wine. Drinking really well on day 2. 93.5 points
Recommendation: Buy! $25 a bottle and this has another 5 plus years of pure enjoyment.
80% Syrah/20% Grenache (93 points)

- 2016 Result of a Crush Claret – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (8/12/2024)
Day 1: $24.60. You can’t get a Claret from anywhere at $24.60 that is this good for $24.60. Outstanding wine featuring blueberries, menthol, match stick, stone, dust, dark chocolate and subtle wood. Super complex and medium plus finish. One bottle left and will go for at least another five years. 93 points
Love when I am wrong on a drinking window as this bottle has plenty left in the tank.
Day 2: My friend loved it and still drinking well.
Recommendation: If you can find this buy it. (93 points)

- 2016 Result of a Crush Christmas Cuvée – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (8/22/2023)
Day 2 review. This is not nearly as good as earlier this year. Earth, spice, rust, dried red meats and pepper. Don’t get me wrong it is still an outstanding value for under $25. (90 points) - 2016 Result of a Crush Syrah The Unnamed Series – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (12/21/2022)
Day 1: It is cold in MN and normally I don’t like wines at 55 out of the passive cellar but this is working. Black pepper, funky, spice, dark fruits and violets. This is a great effort and in the past 90 points. Not now. 92 points
Day 2: Still very nice but again if you have the chance between 16 and 17 back up the truck on the 17. Funk, black pepper, mild spice, dark fruits and floral notes. Again very well made wine and certainly worth the $25 with shipping. 90 points
Recommendation: Drink these now. (92 points) - 2016 Result of a Crush White Blend – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (7/15/2022)
Result of Crush Walla Walla (Walla Walla Tasting Room): Visited the tasting room in Walla Walla. 45% Grenache Blanc, 33% Marsanne, 22% Viognier. The complexity here is amazing. Floral, dust, stones, baked apples and mild funk. Good acidity and medium plus finish. Outstanding. (92 points) - 2017 Result of a Crush Syrah The Unnamed Series – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (9/8/2023)
Day 1:This is the best Syrah in the world for under $25. Green olives, spice, blue currants, minerals, mild funk and dried herbs. Super complex effort and no one offers this quality in the world for the price. 93 points
Day 2: Just came back from a Syrah tasting with average price around $70. This would have finished 3rd tonight for me behind the 2015 Cattle King K & 2013 Reynvaan Contender. What is mind blowing is they still have some of this left. Green olives, spice, blue currants, funk, minerals, tar and floral notes. 93-94 points
Day 3: Even better than day 2. Balanced wine with green olives, spice, black pepper, gravel, blueberries, raspberries and floral notes. Super complex and long finish. A Truly amazing effort for the money and would do some damage blind in a $100 Syrah Tasting. 94 points
Recommendation: I should buy five cases of this. (94 points)
Legendary 17 Syrah
- 2018 Result of a Crush The Unnamed Series Cabernet Sauvignon / Franc – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (11/5/2024)
Day 2: Still young with cherry, spices, wood, dust, dark chocolate and earth. Medium finish. Actually, needs more time. 90 points (90 points) - 2018 Result of a Crush The Unnamed Series Grenache Blanc / Viognier – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (1/11/2023)
Day 1: Even better than at the tasting room in Walla Walla. Stone, orchard fruit, floral, flint, spice and chalky earth. This is an amazing effort for the price. One of the better Rhone White Blends I have tasted from the US. 92+ points
Day 2: Good but lacks the complexity of day 1.
Recommendation: Drink now until 2025. (92 points)

- 2018 Result of a Crush Syrah Christmas Cuvée – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (12/14/2022)
Day 1: Well, this is an amazing effort. Concentrated wine to a T. Smoked Bacon, dark fruits, mild funk, black pepper and tar. Super complex and long finish. A true winner. Not sure how these other posters are not going higher on this wine but some associate price with a score and I don’t. 93 points
Day 2: Truly a pop and pour and drink right away. Later in day 1 not as good and day 2 not as good. Spice, smoke, blue currants, earth and tar. Lacks the amazingness of the pop and pour. 88 points
Day 2.5: Better with smoked meats, spice, tar, black pepper, dark fruits and earth. Amazing how wines improve over 72 hours and this is no exception. 91 points
Day 3: Wonderful transformation and shows less intensity than day 1 but plenty of complexity here. Black pepper, smoked ribs, spice, earth, blue fruits, mild smoke and tar. Medium plus finish and quite balanced. 92 points
Recommendation: Day 1 was the best on the pop and pour but day 3 was a nice surprise. I would drink these through 2025. (93 points)

- 2018 Result of a Crush Syrah The Unnamed Series – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (10/21/2022)
Day 1: This is singing and just off the UPS truck. It is a myth that wines need time from transited. Older bottles or Champagnes yes but newer bottles with over 100 notes and then 100 later no worries on these younger wines. Medium purple. This is complex like the bigger brother Reynvaan wines and for $25 a bottle one of the top wines of the year for the money. Black olives, dust, white pepper, spice, minerals, roasted meats and red currants. Medium to long finish and complexity is off the charts. 93 points
Day 2: This is not as good but solid on day 2. Green olives, dust, minerals, earth, white pepper and red currants. Not as intense as day 1 but not complaining. 91 points
Day 3: So, this is off the charts on day 3. Even better than day 1. Black olives, spice, roasted meat, stone, red currants, minerals, graphite and spices. Medium plus finish. No wine this year under $25 is on this level. Classic this wine is under $30 so it can’t be this good. Wrong! Might be my wine of the year candidate. 94 points
Recommendation: I am buying a case of this and will regret promoting this as I will want more cases down the road. (94 points)
- 2019 Result of a Crush Syrah Christmas Cuvée – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (8/12/2023)
3 Result of a Crush Wines; 8/9/2023-8/12/2023: Day 1: A year since I had this and full 3-day wine review treatment. Better than a year ago with bramble, stone, clay, dust, pepper, spice and red currants. Complex wine and far exceeds its price. 93 points
Day 2: Beef biscuit, stone, pepper, minerals, sour cherry, dust and charcoal. Complex wine and far exceeds the price point. 93 points
Day 2.75: Another level on this wine. Yes, Christmas spices, blueberries, stone, floral, black pepper, minerals, charcoal, dust and exotic spices. Long finish and one of the top wines for the money this year. 94+ points
Day 3: Not nearly as good as day 2. I would consume these in the next 4 to 5 years.
Recommendation: Result of a Crush wines are killing it for the price. (94 points) - 2019 Result of a Crush The Unnamed Series Merlot / Cabernet Sauvignon / Cabernet Franc – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (5/27/2023)
Day 1: While WS gave this 94 points my reviews moved way more of this wine. A stunning Bordeaux Blend that offers the elegance of Bordeaux with the fruit of Washington. Minerals, dust, cherry, plum, baking chocolate and floral notes. Super complex wine for $25 and you will not find anything from Bordeaux at that price point this great. 93 points
Day 2: Maybe a tad bit less impressive as day 1 but solid. Minerals, cherry, scorched earth, plum, dark chocolate and tobacco. Very complex wine and tremendous value. 92 points
Day 3: This is even better on day 3 and really a long-term ager. Bordeaux like on day 3 and this is why you need to wait on certain wines. Cigar, plum, cherry, minerals, earth, dark chocolate and gravel. Medium plus finish and concentrated wine. A superstar. 94 points
Recommendation: Amazing!!! (94 points)
Star from 2019
- 2019 Result of a Crush Syrah The Unnamed Series – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (11/3/2022)
Day 1: Rock on with this wine. Green olives, spice, strawberry, stone, white pepper and savory roasted meats. Medium plus finish. The complexity for a $25 wine is overwhelming. 93 points
Day 2: Stone, green olives, spice, dust, roasted meats, floral and earth. Super complex effort and amazing these wines are $25. Buy! 92 points
Day 3: Not as good as day 1 but still solid. Pepper, green olives, strawberry, spice, roasted peppers and earth. Even on day 3 a stellar price but day 1 wins. 90 points
Recommendation: Pop and pour and enjoy on day 1. This will drink well through 2030 and some aging will be recommended. (93 points) - 2019 Result of a Crush Syrah Christmas Cuvée – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (7/18/2022)
2nd time drinking this wine in less than a week. Bramble, floral, white pepper, earth and stone. Very good. (91 points) - 2020 Result of a Crush Syrah Reserve – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (11/5/2024)
Day 1: This is the most intense wine from result and reynvaan that I have tasted. Gravel, funk, dark currants, charcoal, stone, pepper and black olives. Amazing wine for the money.
Day 2: Funk, spice, dark currants, gravel, stone and black pepper. A big and concentrated wine. 94 points
Day 3: More balanced but equally good. Rocks funk, spice, pepper, cherry, plum, black olives and gravel. Very complete wine and a true bargain from the Rocks. 94+ points
Recommendation: Outstanding bargain and no smoke taint here. (94 points)

- 2020 Result of a Crush Claret – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (3/25/2024)
Day 2: Great on day 1 but didn’t review officially. Day 2 holding form with gravel, blueberries, iron, earth, blueberries and dark cherry. A touch of dark chocolate on the finish. I continue to like these better than the more expensive Classic from Reynvaan. Outstanding Bordeaux value. 93 points
Day 3: Excellent with some rocks funk, blueberries, spices, iron, dark cherry, dark chocolate and a touch of pepper. Medium plus finish and concentrated wine. 93 points
Recommendation: One of the better 2020s from the west coast. No smoke taint. (93 points) - 2020 Result of a Crush Syrah The Unnamed Series – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (3/19/2024)
Day 2: This is a big style wine with smoked meats, funk, coffee beans, blueberries, earth, spices and black olives. Not getting smoke taint with the Result wines from 2020. This is highly recommended and a real bargain. Not at the level of the 2021 or 2017 but solid. 92 points
Day 3: Not as intense as day 1 and 2 but still solid with black olives, earth, smoked meats, tar, spice and a hint of smoke. Medium plus finish. 90 points
Recommendation: This one will age but not to the degree of the 17 or 21. Drink now to 2027. (92 points) - 2020 Result of a Crush Christmas Cuvée – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (10/22/2022)
Day 1: This wine has opened up over the last hour. Mint, spices, graphite, smoke, raspberries, stone and pepper. Medium plus finish. This will improve on day 2 no doubt. 90 points
Day 2: Funk, mushrooms, spice, smoke, pepper, graphite and stone. This is a wonderful improvement from day 1 and quite complex. Outstanding. 92 points
Day 3: More mellow then day 1 and 2 but still excellent. Black olives, white pepper, spice, red currants, smoke, mild funk and tar. Medium finish. 92 points
Recommendation: Can’t believe these are under $25 shipped to my door. (92 points) - 2021 Result of a Crush Syrah The Unnamed Series – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (1/21/2025)
Day 1: Today I launch Wine Disruptors which will promote the great wineries from the US. Result of a Crush being one of them. Black pepper, spice, blueberries, green olives, earth and stone. Super complex and wonderful wine. Cheers! 94 points
Day 2: Rocking on day 2 with gravel, black pepper, funk, green olives, tar and stone. Medium plus finish. Outstanding quality. 94 points
Day 3: Green olives, black pepper, minerals, red currants, blueberries, tar, dust and grilled meats. A nice touch of spice on the medium to long finish. 94+
Recommendation: I have turned many on to Result of a Crush and encourage you to do as well. NO not on the payroll. (94 points)
Best under $25.00
- 2021 Result of a Crush Claret – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (10/27/2024)
Day 2: Not as good as previous bottles. Menthol, spice, blueberries, dust and earth. Lacks the complexity of the other tastings. Will see how it goes on day 3. 90 points
Day 3: Well amazing transformation again on day 3. You should try this everyone. Iron, minerals, red currants, spice, menthol. mild oak and pepper. Complex wine and medium plus finish. Excellent. 93 points
Recommendation: Cellar these for five years. (93 points) - 2021 Result of a Crush Christmas Cuvée – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (8/2/2024)
Day 2: This is signing and as good as the Unnamed bottling on this particular effort. Green olives, spice, earth, tar, white pepper and dried flowers. Medium plus finish and super complex offering for under $30. 94 points
Day 3: Just did a $100 plus tasting last night and this wine for $25ish is far superior to the 2019 Andremily EABA and while not as good as the 2011 SQN Dark blossom it is a far superior value. Earth, tar, minerals, stone, dried flowers, green olives and roasted meat. Medium plus finish and super concentrated. 94 points
Recommendation: The Result of a Crush wines are clearly the best value in wine today. (94 points) - 2021 Result of a Crush White Blend – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (5/5/2023)
Day 1: Fitting I am the first to post about this wine. Very nice with floral, spice, lemon, tropical fruit and minerals. Very refreshing and clean wine. Medium plus finish. 92 points
Day 2: Still showing well with orange peel, floral, spice, dust, tropical fruit and lemon. Medium plus finish. Complex effort. 92 points
Day 3: This has held up over 3 days and is wonderful. Candied pineapple, minerals, shells, tropical fruit, floral and dust. Very complex wine and should age for 5 plus years.
Recommendation: Stellar white wine and under $25. Buy it. (92 points)
2022 Result of a Crush Christmas Cuvée – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (10/23/2024) Day 1: Again first to review this and that is fitting. This is not in the league of the 2022 Reserve Syrah but it is still only day 1. Lighter than most Result wines with chalk, spices, earth, white pepper and minerals. More elegance on this one than Christmas wines in the past. Still a great value. 90 points Day 2: Decreasing in quality. Maybe the most disappointing of all the many Result wines I have sampled. A little dill along with spice, earth, white pepper, muted fruit and forest floor. Lacks personality and spend a few more dollars for the Reserve. 87 points Day 3: Well maybe one of the better improvements in a while. Not a bad wine on day 1 and 2 just not at the level I was expecting. This is amazing in day 3. Green olives, white pepper, blue currants, dust, minerals, gravel and floral notes. Super complex and long finish. Will qualify for best under $30 wine of the year and transformation of the year. Beautiful. 94 points Recommendation: So simple to never assume day 1 is the picture of a wine. 3 day for life. (94 points) 2022 Result of a Crush Syrah Reserve – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (10/22/2024) Day 1: Very fitting that I am the first to review this wine. Honestly the Reserve lineup is not as good as the Unnamed Series Syrah’s with the exception of the 2020s which the Reserve lineup is off the charts great. I am sure sourced from a different vineyard but have found these a few points less. I like this overall and still a good value with white pepper, soy, blue currants, earth and tar. Medium finish. Will see how it evolves over several days. 91 points Day 2: Well, this wine dialed up a few notches. Intense with white pepper, tar, dark fruits, earth, stone and red bell peppers. Medium plus finish. Amazing the day 2 and 3 thing. While many are starting to catch on the majority of wine drinkers are missing the evolution of younger wines. 94 points (94 points) |

2023 Result of a Crush Rosé – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (7/11/2024) Walla Walla Day 1: Result of a Crush (Walla Walla Tasting Room): At the tasting room. Not a fan of Washington rose but this is solid. Cherry, floral, watermelon and a hint of spit. Pretty intense overall. Solid. (90 points) |
