Again didn’t invent the 3 day wine reviewing approach but no doubt the biggest name in the world associated then, now and forever. Here is another example of a wine that did not perform well on day 1 or 2 but got significantly better on day 3. Here you go:
- 2023 Ca’ Marcanda (Gaja) Promis Toscana IGT – Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT (1/17/2026)
Day 1: Natural cork. Nice overall if a bit tight. Sour cherries, floral, spice, minerals, earth and mint. Score withheld at this time but thinking only buying 2 was very smart.
Day 1.5: Tastes like a house pour at a restaurant. Fruit is weak, watery, mint and earth. Could not find any reviews on this wine so what does that say. 80 points
Day 2: Was hoping for more but what a boring offering. Earth, mint, light fruit, water and mild spice. Short finish. Blind you would think this cost around $12.99. 80 points
Day 3: Again day 3 wine review delivers again. Would have slammed this wine after 2 days. Will be for sure doing a day 4 as well. Much more open for business. Floral, earth, underbrush, minerals, a touch of pepper, dark currants and exotic spices. S we Nile not a back up the truck wine it does showcase the need for patience. 91 points (91 points)
