Twin Cities Newest Wine Club: Blind Fine Wine

Well I might know something about creating wine clubs in MN. Twin Cities Wine Club was one of the first clubs that was open to all and we poured some amazing wines over the years. Then it was the Minneapolis Wine club which was more high end wines. Now we have the Blind Fine Wine Club which will be a lunch club once a month and we will have various themes at members houses. October Theme Oregon Pinot. Here are the results:

  • 2023 Big Table Farm Pinot Noir Pelos Sandberg Vineyard – USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Eola – Amity Hills
While young shows great promise. Diam closure with cranberry, cherry, earth, soy, minerals, strawberries, rose petals and spice. Got better over time and just needs a full 3 day review but great on day 1 as well. (93 pts.)
  • 2018 Shea Wine Cellars Pinot Noir Block 23 Shea Vineyard – USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Yamhill-Carlton
The most bold wine of the night. Cherry, blueberries, underbrush, forest floor, earth, dust and spice. Medium plus finish. Should drink well for another decade. 92+ (92 pts.)
  • 2021 Archery Summit Pinot Noir Dundee Hills – USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills
My wine of the night and groups second favorite. Funk, strawberries, raspberries, minerals, floral, cranberry and wood. Medium plus finish. Good concertation overall. (94 pts.)
  • 2014 Château Coutet Barsac – France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Barsac
Very good overall with apricots, honey, orange marmalade, spice and floral notes. Very solid. (92 pts.)
