It is amazing how many people don’t understand the 3 day wine review technique. As I have stated many times, I didn’t create it but no one in the history of wine has done more with it.
Push back reasons.
- We finish the bottle on day 1.
- Solution: Open more bottles.
- The bottle is not fresh.
- Solution: Pour a glass and put the cork in. No need to add gas to the wine to preserve it. Of course have it stored in your cellar or a darker place. All of my wines are in my basement storage room where it is always around 60 degrees.
- Oxygen is bad for wine.
- Solution: Do you decant? 3 Day Reviews are similar to decanting wines say 5 to 6 hours. I always put the cork back in right away although have left them out over night and they are still fine.

- 2022 Château Lafon-Rochet – France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Saint-Estèphe (8/27/2026)
Day 1: Glasvin Bordeaux Stem. Bargain at $44.95 from WTSO. Great on the pop and pour. Cassis, wood, spice, rose petals, gravel, earth and dust. Medium plus finish. Excellent QPR. 93 points
Day 2: Blueberries, Cassis, wood, spices, floral, gravel, earth, minerals, dust and baking chocolates. Very nice wine and should have bought more than 2. 93 points
Day 3: Well 3 Day does it again. By far the best showing of this wine. Blueberries, gravel, spices, stone, wood, earth, sour cherry and floral notes. Smooth and medium plus finish. Beautiful wine and value. 94.5 points
Recommendation: $45 what a steal from WTSO but I am sure long gone. (94 points)
- 2022 Two Vintners Syrah Some Days Are Diamonds – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Horse Heaven Hills (8/25/2026)
Day 1: Glasvin Kane. A bit tight with black pepper, blackcurrants, smoke, minerals, spices, earth and floral notes. Medium finish. 92 points
Day 2: More intense and showing some nice fruit featuring blackcurrants, cherry and raspberries. Black pepper, spices, earth, floral and dust. Medium plus finish. 93 points
Day 3: Smoother on day 3 with black licorice, black pepper, spices, earth, stone, floral, minerals and dark currants. Medium plus finish. Love the smokiness on the finish and we are not talking smoke taint of course. Excellent wine. 94 points
Recommendation: Two Vintners is legit! (94 points)
- 2023 Mark Ryan Cabernet Sauvignon Dead Horse – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Red Mountain (8/27/2026)
Day 1: Glasvin Bordeaux. Excellent again with plum, spices, blueberries, chocolate, Cassis and earth. Medium plus finish. One of the best producers in Washington. 93 points
Day 2: Even better with Cassis, cherry, blueberries, spices, wood, chocolate, minerals and floral notes. Super complex offering and an amazing value. 94 points
Day 3: Holding form. For those who like fruit this is for you. Cherry, Cassis and blueberries. Spices, dark chocolate, minerals and earth. Medium plus finish. 94 points
Recommendation: Dead Horse is one of the best values year in and year out. (94 points)
